The gift of a new mind

I would like to talk about thoughts.

There are times when I reflect on torment. Analysing what torment is and how the soul is involved has been something I have been more focusing on lately. I think that is because, to me, thoughts have always been great torment to my soul and that for many years, even today. When we hear the word torment, we usually think of an inferior person suffering under the physical and violent action of an oppressor against them in order to enforce a certain aim. But I think torment is deeper than the physical damage of a person. I have come to believe that torment begins and ends in the mind of a person who suffers it.

If I may, I would like to give an insight to the conclusion I have come to: Torment is the belief of a person that their suffering is not in their control and that they are not able to liberate themselves out of their suffering, in other words, that their suffering has no end. It is not only the current pain, it is much more the fear of new pain. It is the knowledge of a broken spirit, a person whose will has been broken, that pain awaits them and the awareness of their incapability to mentally go through new pain and thus ever heal. It is the knowledge that the outward trauma they are facing is too much for them to bear, the belief that restoration under normal circumstances is impossible. It is the fact that the person in pain is not seen in their pain, and cannot express their pain and is thus not heard.

IT IS THE SCREAM FOR A MIRACLE OF A SOUL UNAWARE.

That is torment: having lost hope.

To hear painful thoughts every day, again and again and again. To believe that there is no way out. To feel like no one understands. To believe that speaking about it is forbidden. To feel like nothing helped and nothing can. To feel left behind and forgotten by everyone and at the same time wish for someone to understand. To be the only person that cares but cannot change things. That the only thing left are the unspoken thoughts in mind, and that even these seem to have taken turn against you. To be constantly afraid. Afraid of everything. Of being alone, of being with people, of further pain, of the oppressor (whatever it is), of living, of dying, of starting something, of continuing, of quitting, of going to bed at the end of a day, of waking up for a new day. The fear of yesterday. The fear of today. The fear of tomorrow. The fear of your future.

Torment: a restless soul.

So what do you do when you have become imprisoned by your own thoughts? When your belief system and your thought patterns have become prison walls to your soul and mind? When it is only you left but you cannot help yourself? What do you do when you believe that you are captive in your circumstance, that there is no way out? It is not only the walls of the mental prison that are torment to the soul, it is the inability to see beyond the walls of the cell. It is the framed mind that has given up dreaming and imagining, hoping. It is the person in pain having given up.

So what do you do?

You have to change the way you think! Change your mind!

But how? How can I renew my mind?

By knowing the truth and holding on to it!

What is the Truth?

Every Word from God!

Jesus said: "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life" (John 14:6), indicating that He is the Source of Solution to any problem, wether it is captivity, wrong beliefs or anything that concerns the dying of a soul. He says that He is the way out, that He knows the truth about you and your circumstance and that He knows how to restore you because He is the Source of all Life. Jesus came to change people's hearts and minds. He came to reveal the Truth. He came to reveal that there is hope. As long as He is there and invited into any issue, there is hope. There is Hope because Jesus defeated the power of death by arising three days after being crucified. He is the physical evidence of the Words the Father speaks, in other words, He is the evidence of the Truth and Power of God's Words. Jesus was given the Power over everything existing. With one Word He can change a circumstance and deliver you because all Power belongs to Him.

Pain exists in the journey of our faith. It still exists after you have given your life to Jesus and when you have walked with Him for years. Traumas of your past may still hunt you, toxic patterns in your lifestyle might still recur today. Some pain God chooses to heal instantly, the moment we receive Him. Some pain He chooses to heal through a process and through time by revealing His Truth to us concerning a lie that we believed about our worth and value of life. Lies that we have walked in for years. Sometimes it is the long season in which God proves His Love and Faithfulness towards us that helps us to trust Him at all. We can only believe and receive God's Word and Truth concerning us when we can trust Him. So sometimes God first has to heal our trust issues and our heart before He can change the way we think, and that takes time.

Thinking healthy is not something that changes over night and it is also not something that just happens to you! It is something the Holy Spirit does within you but it requires your willingness for a change of mind. It requires you to actively confront lies of the enemy that you have begun to believe as the truth.

"For although we live in the natural realm, we don't wage a military campaign employing human weapons, using manipulation to achieve our aims. Instead, our spiritual weapons are energized with divine power to effectively dismantle the defenses behind which people hide. We can demolish every deceptive fantasy that opposes God and break through every arrogant attitude that is raised up in defiance of the true knowledge of God. We capture, like prisoners of war, every thought and insist that it bow in obedience to the Anointed One. Since we are armed with such dynamic weaponry, we stand ready to punish any trace of rebellion, as soon as you choose complete obedience." (2 Chor. 10:3-6 TPT)

So the question is, are you ready to take responsibility for the way you think? Are you willing to analyse how you think and come to the root of why you believe certain things about you as a person and about your life? Would you allow God to disrupt your thought patterns and your belief system? Are you ready to give up your position as a victim and begin to fight the lies of the enemy by rejecting specific and recurring thoughts that keep you in a toxic cycle? Are you ready to believe the real Truth, which is in every Word of God? Are you ready to take up your bed and walk?

You are not a victim and you are not too weak to overcome the pain confronting you! This will not kill you! The devil cannot have you and he cannot defeat you because You are in the Hands of God and no one can take you out of His Hands! God has not left you and He never will!

Jesus is speaking:
"My own sheep hear my voice and I know each one, and they will follow me. I give to them the gift of eternal life and they will never be lost and no one has the power to snatch them out of my hands. My Father, who has given them to me as his gift, is the mightiest of all, and no one has the power to snatch them from my Father's care. The Father and I are one." (John 10: 27-30 TPT).

It is time to get up. Yes, it is painful and yes, it is is not fair and yes, you are tired. But you got to stand up, if you want to be healed. You have to look up again because your healing is right there, in the thought of your hope.

You have the power to control your mind! This, whatever it is, has no power over you! You got a God backing you that is greater than any giant you are facing!

This is the gift of a new mind: the knowledge of God and all His benefits towards you. The restoration of your hope!

CHILD, THE FUTURE IS BRIGHTER!

TAKE UP YOUR BED AND WALK!

God bless You <3
